Kenneth LeRoy Ayres, 70, of Marietta, OK passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022. He was born December 27, 1951 in Wichita Falls, TX the son of Kenneth and Erma “Cookie” (Cook) Ayres.
 
Kenneth spent most of his young life in New Jersey. His parents relocated to Tahlequah, OK and then Tecumseh, OK where his father began working for the Capital in Oklahoma City, OK programming what we sometimes see as the huge computer in the Capital Basement. Kenneth finished High School in Tecumseh and went on to Barber Stylist School in OKC where he became an Instructor. He met the love of his life, Melrose Marie McNiel, while he was an instructor. They were married on June 1, 1980. The newlyweds soon moved to Marietta, OK. Kenneth worked for East Jordan Iron Works in Gene Autry, OK for 20+ years where he retired in 2019. He was a master woodworker and enjoyed gardening. Kenneth had a sense of humor and was known as “a master of inappropriately timed sarcasm.”  
 
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Erma Ayres, and father-in-law, Gerald Scheihing.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, MelRose Ayres of the home; daughter, Trilby Eugena Louise Geninatti and husband Jeff of Ardmore, OK; sister, Nancy Baroni of Piedmont, OK; grandchild, Jonté Louise Geninatti; great-grandchild, Callum; and mother-in-law, Jeannie Scheihing.

Graveside services for Kenneth will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 18, 2022 at the Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta with Pastor Shane Norton officiating and Justin Meador assisting. Arrangements under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Marietta.
 
Honorary bearers are Jeffrey Geninatti, Justin Meador, Thomas Hays, Travis Williams, Mike Walton, Danny Stewart, Willie Ed Douglas, and Roy Gains.
