Junior Allgood, age (81), of Bennington , Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2010. Mr. Allgood was born to Manley Jr. and LaVada (Hulsey) Allgood on Monday, May 6, 1929, in Brownwood, Texas.

He married Vera (Heidrich) Allgood on December 24, 1947, in Albany, Texas. Junior loved to work with animals, fishing, and enjoyed getting out with his metal detector. He found great pleasure in making people laugh, comedy was his outlet. Junior never met a stranger.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday December 17, 2010, at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home Chapel in Durant, Oklahoma. Bro. Darel Bunch and Bro. Darrell Heidrich will officiate.

Internment will follow in the Lake View Cemetery in Marietta, Oklahoma.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby McBride Jr., Russel McBride, Joshua Nickens, Glen Grote, Ben Mooney and Richard Lawrence. Honarary Pallbearers will be Jay Smith and Zachary McBride.

Family Hour will be Thursday December 16, 2010 at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home from 7-8 p.m.

Junior was preceded in death by his parents, Manley and LaVada Allgood, Jr.; son, Spencer Allgood; great-granddaughter, Virginia Privett; brother, Donnie Allgood; sister, Joyce Marrell

Junior Allgood is survived by his wife Vera Allgood, of Bennington , Oklahoma; daughter:Linda McBride and husband Bobby Sr. of Bennington , Oklahoma; son, Alan D. Allgood and wife Joan of Longview, Texas; grandchildren, Bobby H. McBride and wife Dana of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Kimberly McBride of Fort Collins, Colorado, Russell McBride of Kemmerer, Wyoming, Susan Lawrence and husband, Richard of Calera, Oklahoma, Sarah Privett and husband Bobby of Calera, Oklahoma, Allison Bissell and husband Brian of Keller, Texas, Amy Allgood of Longview, Texas; brother, Joe Allgood and wife Joyce of Ardmore, Oklahoma; sister, Geneva James of Gainesville, Texas; brother-in-law, Buddy Heidrich and wife Bonnie of Sweeny, Texas; sisters-in-law, Anita Green of Brownwood, Texas, Martha Heidrich of Sturgis, Kentucky; fourteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
