Born September 19, 1936 in the Eastman Community of Love County, the son of William Millard “Bill” and Elsie Lou Willis Montgomery, he died Sunday, September 25, 2016 at his residence. A resident of Love County most of his life, Carroll graduated from Meadowbrook High School in 1954 and on June 12 of that year married Lorene Nipp in Gainesville, Texas. He was always involved in community activities which included coaching both of his sons’ little league teams. An avid OU fan, he also enjoyed gardening, coin collecting, and watching westerns, especially those starring John Wayne. Carroll also loved family gatherings, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and participating in the men’s fellowship breakfasts. A man of great faith, Carroll was a member of the Marietta Assembly of God. He will be remembered as a kind, sweet, loving man who was never heard to say anything bad about anyone.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sheryl Lynn Harris; a son, Gregory Wayne Montgomery; great-grandson, Samuel Wayne Harris; and two brothers, Harold Montgomery and Gene Montgomery.
