John Wesley Brawley with wife, Phariba Ann (Stuckey) Brawley, and children.

BIO:

Birth: Aug. 12, 1871 Brown County Texas, USA Death: May 15, 1917 Marsden Love County Oklahoma, USA

S/O Hugh Prior Brawley and Rutha Ann (Carpenter). H/O Phariba Ann (Stuckey).

This individual was not listed on any of the burial lists for the cemetery.

The Brawley family believes this is the place of John Wesley Brawley's burial. They have no paper documentation. What they do have is the memory of their cousin, John Brawley, who was 17 at the time of JWB's death. He has told the Brawley family about attending the funeral and the burial at the Gordon Cemetery. It certainly seems logical that Phariba (Stuckey) Brawley's husband and father would be buried in the same cemetery near where they all lived in Marsden, OK.

Survey of the cemetery June 11, 2009 found no tombstone for this individual. There are many burial stakes in the cemetery which of course have no names or dates. There are also many small, rough-type slate's wedged into the ground for burial makers but none of these have info on them.

Spouse: Phariba Ann Stuckey Brawley (1878 - 1948)

Children: Wesley Robert Brawley (1901 - 1953) Hubert Steven Brawley (1903 - 1986) Earnest Leroy Brawley (1904 - 1975) Mollie Jewel Brawley Stokes (1913 - 1993) Winnie Gladys Brawley Wright (1915 - 1994)
