Funeral services for Jesse Emery Montgomery were conducted from the First Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Cecil Holbrook, Rev. Gerald Peters and Rev. W.P. Rowland serving as the officiating ministers.

Mr. Montgomery died February 21 in an Ardmore hospital. He had suffered a heart seizure two days prior to his death.
 
He was born January 9, 1888 in Bulcher, Texas, moving to Love County when a boy. He was married to Miss Inez Wilson on January 10, 1905 at Marietta and they had made their home in the Eastman community for many years before moving to Marietta. Mr. Montgomery was a retired farmer, grocery man and served as Justice of the Peace in Marietta.
 
Mr. Montgomery had been a member of the Eastman Baptist Church for 63 years where he was a Charter member and Deacon. He will be greatly missed by his many friends throughout Love County.

Survivors are, his wife, Mrs. Inez Montgomery of the home in Marietta; four sons, Bill Montgomery, Clarence Montgomery, Melvin Montgomery and Calvin Montgomery of Marietta; two daughters, Mrs. Jim McGiboney of Coppell, Texas and Mrs. Kirbly Langford of Enid; one brother, R.A. Montgomery of Lawton; one sister, Mrs. Etta Belfrey of Muenster, Texas; 18 grandchildren, three step grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
 
Interment in the Eastman Cemetery was under the direction of the Goodrich Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers were B. Presley, Kenneth Bacon, George Lowe, Bob Goldsmith, ___ Preston, Burl Bone, Gene Robertson, and Richard Birdsall.
 
Note of Submittor: this is my Granddaddy. He suffered a heart attack while attending his cousin's funeral service, Mary Hyman. He died a day or so later in the hospital at Ardmore.
