Services for Gus E. Willis were conducted Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Nazarene Baptist Church in the Dunbar community. Officiating was Rev. Eugene Bellard.

Mr. Willis was born May 27, 1904, at Burneyville, Indian Territory, and died August 9, 1991, in the Love County Health Center, Marietta, at the age of 87.

He was the son of Thomas and Amanda Willis. A resident of Love County most of his life, he married Christine Gaines May 7, 1959, at Gainesville, Texas. Mr. Willis served in the Army during World War II and was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Ardmore American Legion and the Nazarene Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Willis of the home and Danny Ray Willis of Lawton; two daughters, Jimmie Willis of Lawton and Linda Marie Andrews of Montgomery, Alabama; a son-in-law, Edward Andrews of Montgomery, Alabama; three step-sons, A.D. Douglas of Lawton, Harry Mathis of Ardmore, and B.J. Washington of Tulsa; two step-daughters, Cora Lee Brazille of Oklahoma City and Willie Ruth Toles of Lawton; 46 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren. Mr. Willis was preceded in death by his wife, Christine, on March 3, 1991; seven brothers and five sisters.

Interment in the Dunbar Cemetery was under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home.

Family members and friends served as flower bearers and pallbearers.
