Ida Mae Gaines, 64, of Marietta, OK, was born October 27, 1945, at
Gainesville, TX, the daughter of Frank Piercy, Jr. and Eva Byers Piercy.
She passed away Monday, January 18, 2010, in Mercy Memorial Health
Center, Ardmore, OK. A resident of Love County all of her life, Mrs.
Gaines graduated from Turner High School.
She had been employed as a stock clerk at Weber Aircraft in Gainesville
since 1984. Mrs. Gaines liked to sew, cook and travel, but most of all
she enjoyed watching her boys rope and attend rodeos. She was a member
of the Nazarene Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were a daughter, Anna Mae Gaines; grandmother,
Mattie Byers; and grandfather, Rayford Byers.
Survivors include her
father, Frank Piercy, Jr. of Oklahoma City, OK; mother and stepfather,
Eva and Curtis Johnson, also of Oklahoma City; two sons and
daughter-in-law, Willy Gaines, Jr. and wife, Christy of Madill, OK and
Steven Gaines of Marietta; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Dale and
Kenneth Robinson, Betty and Ronald Harris and Ozella Avery, all of
Oklahoma City, and Van Givens of Lewisville, TX; uncle, Willie Byers of
Jamaica, NY; and two grandchildren, Chase Cavitt and Chance Cavitt.
Bearers will be Ray Douglas, Willie Ed Douglas, Melvin Douglas, Will
Lornes, Donald Ray Hartman and Bruce Mobley. Honorary bearers are
Freddie Doss, Jimmy Johnson, Perry Halstied, Milton Dailey and L.J.
Lornes. Flower girls will be Demetria Hurst, Delana Bond, Toyia Colston
and Veneitra Colston.
