Services are pending for Sylvia Irene "Betty" Woodard, 89, of Guthrie at Davis Funeral Home. Woodard died Saturday, January 13, 2001 at Golden Age Nursing Home in Guthrie.

Funeral services for Sylvia Irene "Betty" Woodard, 89, of Guthrie, Okla., were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001 at Davis Funeral Chapel with Dr. Larry Stevens officiating. Burial was in Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie, under the direction of Davis Funeral Home, of Guthrie.
Sylvia was born Jan. 3, 1912 at McFall, Mo., to Harvey Newton and Florence Irene (Thrasher) Goble. She died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at Golden Age Nursing Home in Guthrie.
Betty moved to the Coyle and Guthrie area at the age of six, moving here from Missouri. She was employed at Tinker Field during the war and later for the Keep-U-Neat Cleaners in Guthrie. She also worked in the school lunch room at Coyle for many years.
Betty enjoyed being with her family and she enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking and especially enjoyed fishing when her health permitted.
She married Clinton Woodard on Aug. 10, 1929, in Guthrie. He preceded her in death in July of 1983.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Robert Woodard in July 1998; two brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include one daughter, Elizabeth (Libby) Seals, Arkansas City, Kan.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; one sister, Luella Thomas, of Guthrie; and a number of nieces and nephews and friends.
