Richard Minter Woodard passed away Thursday, January 9, 2020 after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was born in Guthrie, OK on October 29, 1953 to Eugene and Meralyn Woodard.

After graduating from Guthrie High School in 1971, he went to work for SW Bell. Richard worked several years in both Guthrie and Edmond for the phone company before deciding to further his education.

Attending the University of Oklahoma, he completed his BA degree in May 1982. He then moved his family to San Francisco and received his Master of Divinity Degree in May 1987 from San Francisco Theological Seminary. Richard worked in the ministry for several years, serving in various job capacities. In 1996, he completed a 2nd Masters Degree in Nursing Home Administration from the University of Kansas. The last 20+ years of his career, re-organizing continuing care facilities became his passion. He hopscotched across the U.S. for the remainder of his working career working in Jacksonville, FL, Atlanta, GA, Oklahoma City, OK, Washington D.C., and ending his working career in Pleasant Hill, TN.

Richard had such a fun loving, laidback disposition and he made friends easily everywhere he went. He never met a stranger and could easily fit in anywhere with anybody. He loved life and lived it to the fullest as long as he was able. All who knew him and were around him have great memories of the times they spent together with him.

Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Meralyn Woodard in 1986; his father, Eugene Woodard in 1992; and his grandparents, Harvey and Irene Donnell.

Survivors include his wife Tracey, of Crossville, TN; his son, Arch Woodard (Jill) of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Sage Goldenberg (Jeff) of Toronto, Canada; his step-children, Jackson Hughes, Sydney Hughes, and Tristan Hughes of Crossville, TN; grandchildren, Sophia, Nadia, and Piper-Anne Woodard, Jackson and James Goldenberg; brothers, Stephen (Pat) of Pearland, TX and William Woodard (Jennie) of Guthrie, OK; and his sister, Kathryn McGee (Jim) of Guthrie, OK as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A memorial service in Crossville, TN will take place Thursday, January 16, 2020 under the direction of Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc., 76 E. Adams St., Crossville, TN 38555.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Camp Nakanawa, 1084 Nakanawa Road, Crossville, TN 38571 or at www.campnakanawa.com.
