Sophia May Williams, 93, Guthrie, Oklahoma, passed away early Monday morning, September 20, 2004. Sophia was born January 29, 1911 in Rankin, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma to Albert and Dilla May Farrar Mills.
Sophia married Lee E. Williams at the home of the bride's parents near Rankin. They left Roger Mills County in 1935 and moved to Guthrie in Logan County.
A loving and devoted Mother of three children, she is survived by Lela James, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Dwayne Williams, Edmond, Oklahoma, and Geraldine (Jerry) Sander, Idaho Springs, Colorado. Sophia has five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, nine brothers and sisters and two grandsons.
Services will be held Thursday, September 23, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Smith Memorial Chapel, Guthrie, and burial will be at Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Guthrie.
