Funeral services for Helen M. Whittington, 97, of Guthrie, OK will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Smith Memorial Chapel with Reverend Dale DePue officiating. Interment will follow at Summit View Cemetery in Guthrie. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.

Helen was born on September 5, 1912 in Guthrie to H.E. and Nellie (Congable) Birch. She passed away on Friday, January 1, 2010 in Guthrie.

Helen was a long-time member of First United Presbyterian Church and an accountant in Guthrie for many years.

She is survived by one grandson Gerald W. Nelson, Jr. of Guthrie; two sisters Pearrl Jarred of Guthrie and Joyce Wood of Wynnewood, OK; and two great-grandsons Geofrey Coleman of Oklahoma City, OK and Nik Labas of Guthrie.

Helen is preceded in death by her husband Albert in 1999, one daughter, one granddaughter, one great-grandson, two brothers, and two sisters.

Visitation will be held at Smith-Gallo Funeral Home on Wednesday until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
