Graveside services for Marjorie Marie (Coffin) Welch, 89, of Guthrie, OK, will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Summit View Cemetery with Jerry Jackson officiating. Services are under Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, 220 North 1st St., Guthrie, OK 73044. There will not be visitation.

Marjorie passed from this earthly life on August 13, 2021. She was born in Guthrie, December 31, 1931 to Harold W. and Lorine Coffin. She attended Guthrie schools, graduating in 1949. On October 8th of that year, she married her high school sweetheart, Robert M. (Bob) Christy. They had two sons: Steven and David. Bob passed away February 14, 1994. In 1996, Marj married a long time friend, William (Bill) Welch.

Marj was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; two sisters, Norma (Mrs. Wayne) Barnard and Mary Ann (Ms. Ryan) Norris.

She is survived by her husband, Bill of the home; sons, Steven Christy and wife Susan and David Christy and wife Julie; step-daughters, Rhonda and husband, David Bench of Guthrie and Danna and husband, J.C. Trout of Fort Worth, TX. She is also survived by grandchildren, Joshua Christy and wife, Carrie, Linda and husband Ryan Fredrick, Gabriel Christy and wife, Brandy, Erin Christy, and Sarah and husband, Daniel Wood. Also surviving her are step-grandchildren; Camie and husband, Brian Adams, Jami and husband, Jerome Fogle, Cori and husband, Adam Clements, Nick Bench and wife, Shana, and Ashley Trout and wife, Shylia; nieces, Christie Barnard and Susan and husband, Buster Muegge; brother-in-law, Ryan Norris; and nephew Randy Norris and wife, Carla. She was also blessed with many step-nieces and nephews.

Her life was then brightened by six great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Emma, Allison, Joseline, Cooper, and Hayden and many step great-grandchildren.

Marjorie loved the Lord. She was an active member of the First Christian Church in Guthrie for 50 years. In 1996, she transferred memberships to the Poplar and Warner Church of Christ in Guthrie where she was baptized again and served the Lord.
