November 20, 1951 - October 31, 2016

Donald G. Weir, 64, passed away October 31, 2016. He was born November 20, 1951, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Edwin and Ida Mae Weir.

Don served in the U.S. Navy as an airplane mechanic. He met the love of his life, Esther Montoya, in Raton, New Mexico and they married January 22, 1972 in California. After serving in the Navy, they moved to Raton and later relocated to Guthrie where they have lived for 29 years. Don enjoyed building things, being outside and most importantly spending time with his grandchildren.

Don is preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law Merle Porter and Sam Sorrell.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Esther; three daughters, Pam Henning and husband Brandon of Guthrie; Tasha Ireton and husband Greg of Guthrie; Tammy Schroder and husband Chris of Guthrie; sister Lynda Parson and husband Clyde of Bristow; sister Sharon Sorrell of Bartlett, Kansas; brother Wes Weir and wife Karlene of Bristow; sister Shirly Porter of Guthrie; twin brother Ronnie Weir of Bristow; grandchildren Carson and Camryn Ireton, Taylor and Avery Schroder, and Hadley Henning; and many other loved family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, November 4, 2016 at Smith Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Gene Owen officiating. Interment will follow at Summit View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.

Visitation will be held Thursday, 3:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. with the family receiving guests, 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.
