Kay Donna Webb

Kay Donna Webb was born October 13, 1936 in Guthrie, Oklahoma to Jack and Bina Grace Harris. She was an excellent student and an accomplished piano, saxophone and accordion musician. On April 21, 1956, following graduation from high school, she married Charles Wesley Webb. She trained to become a court reporter at OU and worked as a court reporter at the Logan County Court House prior to starting her family. She is survived by two children: Kent Harris Webb, M.D., a surgeon practicing in Oklahoma city and his wife Devorah Webb, and Drew Dean Webb, an attorney practicing in Oklahoma City and his wife Ginny Webb. She is further survived by six grandchildren: Jessica Webb, Aubrey Webb, Brigitte Webb, Connor Archer, Victoria Fredericks and Solomon Archer.
While her children were in school, she dedicated her time to caring for her home and family. She was especially creative, a wonderful cook and enjoyed decorating her home and entertaining friends. She also loved to play bridge and was involved in bridge clubs throughout her lifetime. She was considered to be an excellent bridge player and was sought after by many as a bridge partner over her years of playing. She and her family spent nine years living in Dallas and Houston before finally settling in Edmond in 1972. After her children completed high school, Kay began a career in real estate. She was a sales associate working with Bob Turner and Susan Kessler for many years and was consistently a high net producer. She enjoyed her career and met many lifelong friends.
After their retirement, she enjoyed spending time with Charles, her loving husband. They had many friends and traveled around the state enjoying the various Oklahoma state parks and lakes. After Charles passed away in 2011, she was surrounded by many friends that kept her spirits up and gave her the opportunity to continue enjoying her life. Our family is especially grateful to Karen and Max Moore, Charlotte and Bill Graves and to her church and bridge friends that made special efforts to keep Kay involved with life.
We will be eternally grateful to Blanca Torres who spent weekdays with Kay for the last several years of her life and made sure that she was loved and cared for beyond everyone’s expectations. Because of Blanca, Kay had the constant care and companionship that gave her a quality of life that allowed her to live out her time on this earth full of peace and joy. We also appreciate the kind and loving care given by Dr. Lorraine Wilson and the staff of her dialysis unit. Kay was a most brilliant and hard working person and was always admired for her ability to think through complex situations and provide sound advice to us all. She will be missed every day until we see her again in heaven.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Community Church, 512 East Seward Rd., Guthrie, with Pastor Bill Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Summit View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM
In honor of Kay, ladies are encouraged to wear red lipstick, which she was well known for, during the service.
