Juanita Jean Weatherford
February 08, 1928 - March 12, 2016

Juanita Jean (Wedgeworth) Weatherford was born February 8, 1928 at Three Sands, Oklahoma to Early Ernest and Lucille Mae (Pierce) Wedgeworth. She was the second child of their 3 daughters. She passed away March 12, 2016 at her home.

Juanita married Harold Lee Weatherford on October 9, 1944. In their early marriage, Harold worked in the oilfield. They lived in Texas, Colorado, and several towns in Oklahoma. Juanita was in charge of finding help for Harold's crew when someone quit. They moved to Guthrie, Oklahoma in 1964. This was their last move with the oilfield.

In 1967 they opened The Spudnut Shop (donuts and Coffee) at 108 W. Harrison Street in Guthrie. This was their first business venture. The business was later sold to daughter Carolyn Jones and husband Rhea.

Juanita later went to work at Humpty Dumpty/Winn Dixie on Division Street until the store closed, in which she retired.

Shortly thereafter, they sold their home on Division Street to McDonalds Restaurants and purchased a home on Camp Road south of Guthrie. There they enjoyed gardening and taking fishing trips to Kaw Lake and Lake Tenkiller.

A few years after Harold's passing in August 8,1995, Juanita moved back to town to East Cleveland Street. The last 18 years she has enjoyed friendship with Wayne Murphy and Norma Jean Cox. Weekends were always Saturday night dance at the VFW, Church on Sunday, and card games through the week with friends. Her last evening was having dinner with Wayne and watching Thunder Games in her home.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold, her sister Joan Barnhart, granddaughters Kelley Ray Allen and Shelley Christine Allen.

She is survived by her sister Mary Jane Collins York of Oklahoma City, OK; daughters Carolyn Jones and husband Rhea of Guthrie, OK, Linda Allen and husband Doug of Blanchard, OK, and Betty Friese and husband Mike of Guthrie, OK; grandchildren James Jones, Angie Lewis and husband Marvel, Stacy Blackmore, Kyle Blakemore and wife Kristi, Shane Friese and wife Mindi, Micah Friese and wife Amanda and Toni Donahoo and husband Jerrod. She is also survived by great grandchildren Ty, Samantha, and Rainy Ramsey, Bella Lewis, Blake and Evan Maupin, Braylon and Vivian Blakemore, Dylan and Alivia Friese and Sage and Valyn Donahoo.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Summit View Cemetery with Pastor Bill Williams officiating. Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
