Barbara J. Waite
(April 18, 1930 - September 16, 2013)

Barbara J. Bench Waite was born April 18, 1930 in Mobile, Alabama to Edward A. and Angie L. Nurse. She passed away September 16, 2013 at Mercy Logan Hospital Guthrie, Oklahoma.

Barbara lived her younger years in Mobile, Alabama where she met Paul S. Bench. After being married they moved to Guthrie, Oklahoma where they raised 5 children. Barbara owned a local business for many years, Barbara’s Accounting.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Angie Nurse, two sons Paul Jr. and Wayne Bench, one brother Edward A. Nurse Jr., and one sister and her husband Dorothy and Bryan Waters.

She is survived by her husband Darrol Waite of the home whom she married in December 2010 and who was by her side till the end. . Barbara is also survived by two sons and their wives, David (Rhonda) Bench of Guthrie; James (Donna) Bench of Bethany, OK, one daughter Patricia Bench (Harold East) of Guthrie; one sister Ann (Billy) Wilkerson and one sister-in-law Margie Nurse of Mobile Alabama,; twelve grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm., Thursday, at the First Christian Church with Mike DeMoss officiating. Burial will be at Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie, OK. Services are under the direction of Abernathy Aaron Funeral Home, Cresent, Ok. Visitation will be Wednesday, 4:00 – 8:00 pm at Abernathy Aaron Funeral Home, 201 North Hickory Street, Cresent, OK. 73028
