Margaret Elaine Taft, age 81 of Guthrie, Oklahoma passed away on July 9, 2019 in Guthrie. She was born on May 17, 1938 in Waco, Texas to Spurlin Crook and Edna Margaret Johnson-Crook.

Margaret married Harry Leslie Taft on March 26, 1955 in Marlin, Texas. Margaret moved to Guthrie in 1971. She was a past member of the Mooreville United Methodist Church in Mooreville, Texas.

Survivors include her son Danny Taft and wife Carrie, daughter Judy Alston, and son John L. Taft and wife Sherry, all of Guthrie; grandchildren Christy, Jason, Patricia, Jeniffer, Wesley, Theresa, Joshua, Sarah, and Pepper; 20 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Harry in 2004.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, July 12, 2019 at Summit View Cemetery with Chaplain Gene Owen officiating.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 12:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.

Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
