Charles Edward Scannell
Born: June 08, 1928
Died: October 16, 2015

Charles Edward "Charlie" Scannell, born June 8, 1928 in Guthrie, Oklahoma to John and Mary Scannell, departed this life on October 16, 2015, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, brothers, Anthony, Joe, and John, his sisters, Theresa Guilfoyle and Agnes Eschbach, daughter, LaDonna Smith, and daughter-in-law, Ruby Scannell.

He is survived by three children: son, Jack Scannell and daugther-in-law Marjorie of Haskell, daughter, Mary Reupert and son-in-law Robert of Guthrie, and daughter Shirley Krueger of Minco. He is also survived by three grandchildren: granddaughter, Julie Cook and grandson-in-law Kevin of Guthrie, grandson, Doug Thompson of Edmond, and granddaughter Sara Johnson and grandson-in-law Justin of Minco. Charlie also leaves behind one great-granddaughter, Madison Cook of Guthrie.

Charlie served in the U.S. Army - stationed in Korea. He was a farmer in Guthrie until 1972 when he moved to Del City. He was employed at Tinker AFB and retired in 1993, but continued raising cattle until 2011 when he moved to Muskogee. Until his move to Muskogee, he attended Grace Covenant Church of Guthrie.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, October 20, 2010 at Smith Memorial Chapel with Charles Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Summit View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Grace Covenant Church would be appreciated.
