Georgia Ruth Robinson

Born: July 22, 1932
Died: February 07, 2011

Georgia Ruth (Rogers) Robinson was born on July 22, 1932 in Kingfisher County, OK to John and Martha “Kitty” (Payne) Rogers. After a lengthy illness, she went to be with her Lord on Monday, February 7, 2011 in Guthrie, OK.

Ruth attended and graduated from Guthrie High School in 1951. She married George Washington Robinson on November 8, 1952. She was a member of Church of God, Guthrie where she was a Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent, and spent many hours with young girls of the church known as the Joybells.

Also while being a pianist at the church, she taught piano lessons to many kids. She would give of herself for anything that her church needed. She always loved to cook for her family and enter her recipes and other hobbies in the local county fair.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents John and Martha Rogers, son George Aaron Robinson, sisters Ella Mae Turner and Rosie Strider, brothers Jessie Heird and Billy Heird, and son-in-law Travis McKelvey.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years George Washington Robinson of the home; one brother Robert Rogers and wife Toni of Security, CO; one sister-in-law Margie Heird of Guthrie; two daughters Colleen McKelvey and Sheila Oliver and husband David; son Keith Robinson and wife LaTasha; seven grandchildren Jeremy McKelvey and wife Elizabeth, Mandy Brock and husband Allen, Brandi Toomey and husband David, Andrew Oliver, Charity McCrary and husband Derreck, Ariel Robinson, and Heath Robinson; and eleven great-grandchildren Tatum, Rebbecca, Jack, Kate, Rachel, and Andrew McKelvey, Logan, Brooklyn, Dylan, and Addison Toomey, and Kyler Brock all of Guthrie.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 11, 2011 at Smith Memorial Chapel with. Interment will follow at Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.

Visitation will be Thursday, 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
