Wendy Kaye Powell, 32, of Guthrie, OK went to be with the Lord May 10, 2008.
Wendy Kaye was born on November 6, 1975 in San Antonio, TX to Johnny Vaughn Powell and Maria G. Robinson. She was raised in Guthrie where she attended school and graduated in 1995. After graduation, she wanted to be a model and even did a TV commercial once. Wendy enjoyed sitting outside with her sisters, she also liked watching her favorite soap opera. She will be extremely missed and is loved very much by all the people in her life.
Survivors are parents, Rick and Maria Robinson and father, Johnny V. Powell; four sisters, Terri and David Long, Anna and Jeff Self, LuAnn and Shawn Wynn, and Gina Powell; one brother, Rickey Robinson, II; nieces and nephews, Tyler C. Long, Rachel N. Long, Jordan A. Self, and Marshal W. Self; grandmother, Enedina Arenas of Converse, TX; aunts and uncles, Ralph and Vicky Arenas of Converse, TX, Ray and Tina Wilson of McKenna, WA, Sid and Vera Herrera of San Antonio, TX, Hank and Blanche Evers of Denver, CO, Josie Gilbert of Aurora, CO, Mike and Rose Cohs of Hammond, IN, Mike and Lupe Torres of Marion, TX; and numerous cousins and friends. Wendy loved her family very much.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 15, 2008 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Guthrie with Reverend Denis Hanrahan officiating. Burial will follow at Summit View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie. Visitation will be held at Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Wednesday until 5:00 p.m. and Thursday, 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up for Wendy in care of her mother, Maria Robinson, 316 South Walnut Street, Guthrie, OK 73044.
