Born: October 03, 1927
Died: February 11, 2015

Lon C. Powell, age 87, of Guthrie, OK, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Willow Creek Nursing Home. He was born in Pleasant Valley, OK, to Gene and Juanita Powell October 3, 1927.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 13, 2015 at Summit View Cemetery with Pastor Bill Williams of Community Church officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.

Lon loved to fish and hunt and built several air boats. He enjoyed riding them with his buddies on the Cimarron River.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Robert and Johnnie, and two great-grandchildren.

Lon is survived by his wife, Betty; two sons, Jerry and Lon, Jr. (Judy) and daughter, Connie. He is also survived by his brother, Willis (Cathy); sisters, Betty Ingram (Harry), Annette Sparks, Arlene Coffman (Harold), Ava Leaverton (Robert), Veta Meachem and Erma Goforth as well as nine grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Noon - 8:00 PM.
