Grover Cleveland Phillips III

Grover Cleveland 'Cleve' Phillips, III was born in Oklahoma City, OK to Grover C. Phillips, II and Geraldine (Gipson) Phillips on March 2, 1957. He went to be with the Lord on August 22, 2020, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Cleve attended Midwest City schools and served in the US Army. He had a wide range of work experiences including plumbing, sandblasting, laying fiber optic lines, mud logging, and for a time, worked at Texhoma Lake on a research project with the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation. He also worked at the Oklahoma County Courthouse as a painter, at FAA, he was a contracted telephone technician and spent the last 17 years at Tinker Air Force Base where he was an equipment manager work leader.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Ellie and daughter, Robyn, of the home; daughter, Brandi Doerr and granddaughters, Lillian and Auna Lee Doerr and great-granddaughter Heidi Moore, all of Moore, OK; two sisters, Martha 'Marti' Blackwood and Carla Swarts, both of Midwest City; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends.

Private family funeral services will be held. The family is inviting friends to join them at the graveside service at Summit View Cemetery at 11:45 A.M., Thursday, August 27, 2020. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, 2:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. at Smith-Gallo Funeral Home in Guthrie.
