Carol Glee Nelson

Died: October 02, 2010

Funeral services for Carol Glee Nelson, 79, of Guthrie, OK will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Community Church, Guthrie with Pastor Bill Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Summit View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.

Carol was born on October 23, 1930 in Guthrie to Carl Hubert and Margie Glee (Morrisett) Gooch. She passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2010 in Oklahoma City, OK.

Carol was an avid quilter and was still buying quilt material until a week before her passing. She opened a clothing store, Carol Ann’s, in downtown Guthrie in 1966. Her enjoyment was her family and her store, working until the day before she died.

She is survived by her son Mark Kevin Nelson; daughter Carol Ann Tisher; grandchildren Courtney GleeAnn Daves, Kathryn Marie Tisher, Zachary Dale Nelson and wife Brandi all of Guthrie, and Krystal Hensley of Edmond, OK; and five great-grandchildren.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, husband Dale in 2003, son Gary Dale Nelson, and two brothers Robert G. Gooch and Dr. Donald L. Gooch.

Visitation will be Tuesday, 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
