Barbara Madeline Metcalf, age 74 of Guthrie, Oklahoma passed away suddenly on March 10, 2020 and was welcomed home with loving arms by her beloved husband Kenneth. She was born on May 6, 1945 in Neptune, New Jersey to Raymond and Erna (Marcks) Hilman.

On May 29, 1964 Barbara married Kenneth Metcalf, Sr. in Halifax, North Carolina. Of this union three children were born, Kathy, Rikki, and Ken Metcalf, Jr.

Barbara lived in Guthrie most of her life. She attended church at St. Mary Catholic Church and SouthPointe Baptist Church. Barbara worked at Tinker Air Force Base for 18 years in accounts payable. She retired from Tinker in 2008.

Barbara adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and spent time with them and took care of them as much as she could. She loved her four cats and sewing. Barbara had a big sweet tooth and her favorites were Mike and Ikes, Good & Plenty, and black licorice.

Survivors include her daughter Kathy Elston and husband Scott of Guthrie, daughter Rikki Metcalf and partner Gregg Gumerson of Guthrie, son Ken Metcalf, Jr. and wife Jen of Wyoming, sister Joan Slocum of Vermont, and niece Shari Casey and husband Pat of Vermont. Barbara is also survived by her six grandchildren Kendra Hibbler and husband Marcus of Tennessee, Kenny Metcalf of Wyoming, Kaycee Hammack of Guthrie, Dustin Myers and wife Kira of Guthrie, Taylor Hammack of Guthrie, Chance Hammack and girlfriend Kelsie of Edmond, Jonathon Metcalf of Enid, six great grandchildren Casyn Hibbler, Mabry Hibbler, Jules Hibbler, Madilynn Myers, Arianna Myers, and Finnleigh Myers. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Metcalf, Sr., parents Raymond and Erna Hilman, mother-in-law and father-in-law Ruth and J.W. Metcalf, and grandson Joshua Myers.

In our sorrow we know Mom is rejoicing in heaven with her husband, grandson, and parents. What a celebration that was.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, March 16, 2020 at SouthPointe Baptist Church with Pastor Robby Robbins offiiating. Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
