Joel Martinez, age 62 of Guthrie died Wednesday September 3, 2002 in Little Rock, Ark. Funeral will be under the direction of Davis Funeral Home.

Joel Martinez, age 62, of Guthrie died on Wednesday, September 3, 2003, Little Rock, Arkansas. Services for Marinez will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday September 6, 2003 at Davis Funeral Home in Guthrie under the direction of Pastor Alfaro Orozco. Burial localtion will be Summit View Cemetery.

Martinez was born on December 10, 1940 in Julimes, Mexico, parents are Fermin Martinez and Angela "Salgado" Martinez.

He moved to Guthrie in 1979 from Chihuahua, Mexico. Martinez was a member of the Hispanic Baptist Church and was presently employed by the Duit Construction Company. He was married to Alicia "Lopez" Marinez on January 9, 1974 in Lazaro Cardenas, Mexico.

Martinez is survived by wife, Alicia Martinez of the home in Guthrie, Oklahoma, children Nathan Marinez, Maria Elena Martinez both of Guthrie, Obidia Treat and husband Todd of San Diego, California, sister, Martha Salgado and husband Pablo of Chihuahua, Mexico, brothers, Angel Martinez and wife Rachel of McPhearson, Kansas, and Isreael Martinez and wife Norma of Chihuahua, Mexico, a nephew that he raised, Roberto Garcia, wife Ana and their daughter Gissel of Guthrie and many other nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Martinez is preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, and 1 brother.

Memorial servics are September 6, 2003 from 7:00 p.m. at Davis Funeral Chapel, the casket will not be opened at any time.
