Born: April 10, 1944
Died: April 10, 2015

Earl Dean Johnson was born April 10, 1944 to Francis Edward Johnson and Bernice Lucille McCorkle Johnson in Fallis, Oklahoma in Lincoln County.

Earl grew up in Guthrie and graduated from Guthrie Schools in 1962. After graduation, he went to work at Aero Commander and retired from the same company then called Gulfstream Aerospace 33 years later. He had other various jobs including driving an ambulance, working for the funeral homes in town, painting houses and drove a plant truck for Suehring’s Guthrie Greenhouses. He was retired at the time of his death.

Earl passed away after a long illness on his birthday, April 10, 2015 at Willow Creek Nursing Center at the age of 71. He was under the care of Companion Hospice. He was preceded in death by his father in 1969, his mother Bernice in 1994, his brother, Marion "Magoo" in 1972 and niece Judith in 2011. He is survived by one daughter Terri Johnson McNulty and husband Jim (grandchildren Carson and Jarrett) of Guthrie, and survived by one son Eddie Johnson and wife Michelle (grandchildren Mara, Emmitt, Levin, Matt and Zach) of Guthrie. He was also survived by his sister in law, Linda Johnson Bement and their daughter Debbie Wilson, husband Ron and family of Warr Acres. Earl also leaves behind many lifelong friends and other family too numerous to mention.

Earl enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing and in his younger years loved to water ski. His favorite past time was to watch his grandkids play sports and attend their various activities where they always excelled in his eyes. Papa was always their biggest fan and had a high five ready and waiting for them afterwards, win or lose. Earl loved spending time with his grandkids and often said it was his true luxury in life.

Serving as Pallbearers, the Class of 62, will be Kenneth Walter, Larry Ferris, Steve Hirzel, Ken Hopcus, Mica Morrow, and Kenneth Price. Honorary pallbearers include Alan Brown.

The family would like to thank Companion Hospice and Willow Creek Nursing Center for the superb health care.

Services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at The First Christian Church, 408 E. Noble, Guthrie, Oklahoma under the direction of Smith Gallo Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Summit View Cemetery in Guthrie. Chaplain Gene Owen will officiate the service.

Visitation will be held Monday, 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM
