Donald Glen Johnson

Donald Glen Johnson was born September 8, 1941 in Guthrie, OK to Glen and Ruth Johnson, where he spent the majority of his life and passed away at the place of his birth on October 14, 2008, at the age of 67.

He is survived by his wife Gretta Ann Norton Johnson, two sons Darin Scott and Todd Braden, one daughter, Donette and son-in-law Jeremiah Johnson, mother Ruth Johnson Skinner, all of Guthrie, brother Eugene “Short” Johnson, Edmond, and sister-in-law Elfreda Johnson, Guthrie.

Don was also blessed with several grandchildren, Stephanie, Ryan, Madison and Ryder Lowrance; Colby, Leslea and Courtnea Wagner; Collin and Madeline Duel, all of Edmond, Tyler and Conner Johnson of Guthrie, and two nieces Zan and her family, Pat, Javan, Danielle and Bella of Virginia Beach, VA., and Erin and her husband, Jared of Guthrie.

Don worked in city/county government and most recently was employed as Emergency Manager Director of Logan County. Don graduated from Guthrie High School in 1959 and obtained his Bachelors’ degree in English at Central State University in 1970.

Don’s family was most important to him. He shared his love of music and cars with his family and many friends. He is a member of The Cathedral of the Hills church in Edmond. Funeral services will be held at The Cathedral of the Hills church in Edmond, Friday, October 17 at 2 p.m. followed by interment at Summit View Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Children’s Building Fund at the Cathedral of The Hills Church of Edmond, OK.

Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
