Jean Doris Jestes

Born: June 13, 1917
Died: July 02, 2008

Funeral services for Jean Doris Jestes, 91, of Guthrie will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 7 at the First Southern Baptist Church of Guthrie with Aaron Summers officiating. Burial will follow in Summit View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.

Jean was born June 13, 1917 in Guthrie to W.T. and Mary Willoby. She went to be with the Lord on July 2, 2008. She died at the Golden Age Nursing Home in Guthrie after a period of declining health.

Jean married Bernard Jestes on January 16, 1937, and they spent almost 66 years together before he passed away in 2002. They had three children.

She worked for and retired from JC Penney after many years. She loved making crafts, painting, gardening and spending time with her family and many friends.

Jean was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a wonderful example of Christian love and spread joy to everyone who met her. She will be dearly missed.

She was an active member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Guthrie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, her parents, three brothers and one sister.

She is survived by a son, Lynn Jestes and wife Sharon of Richardson, Texas; a daughter, Karen Niles and husband John of Perry; a nephew, Robert Jestes of Tulsa; five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Southern Baptist Church, 202 East Noble, Guthrie, OK 73044.
