Marie Elizabeth Wilson Hartgrave was reunited with her heavenly father; husband, Jesse; her dog Joe; and other loved ones on Thursday, June 6, 2019.

Marie was born to James Floyd Wilson and Mary Ellen Kizer Wilson on a farm east of Yale, Oklahoma on November 15, 1927. She attended school in Cushing and Yale. She met her partner for life, Jesse M. Hartgrave, Jr. in 1945 and married him on January 11, 1948. She made her life's work taking care of her husband, daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandsons.

When Jesse retired, they spent much of their time living in their Avian trailer in Cassville, Missouri and trout fishing on the banks of Roaring River. Her hobbies were sewing and crocheting with the proof being the many ribbons she won at the county fair. She won her last blue ribbon on a crocheted baby blanket this past year. Marie loved to cook and feed people. Many of the dishes she made were enjoyed at the pot luck dinners at her Church in Crescent. People always said she made the best hot rolls and cinnamon rolls.

Marie and Jesse were longtime members of the Crescent Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed attending regularly before going into the nursing home. She continued to witness to people and encouraged people to be witnesses for God.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jesse; sisters, Treva Foster and Dian Clements; and brother, Jimmie Wilson.

Marie is survived by her daughters, Jessica (Calvin) Selman and KarAn (George) Privette; grandchildren, Matt (Jennifer) Privette, Courtney (Rod) Poplin, and Samantha (Chris) Evans; great-grandchildren include Colton (fiance Nikki Price) Privette, Emma Privette, Eli Poplin, Cale Evans, and Lance Evans all of Guthrie. She is also survived by her brothers, Robert L. Wilson of Rose, Oklahoma, Tom (Kathy) Wilson, and Don (Marian) King all of Cushing, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews. Marie is also survived by her special friend / sister, Maria Ordaz.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Summit View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
