June 22, 1956 - January 7, 2017

Jerry Duane Grindle, age 60, of Guthrie, Oklahoma passed away January 7, 2017 at his home in Guthrie. He was born June 22, 1956 in Guthrie to Duane and Margaret A. Trumbull.

Jerry lived in Guthrie his entire Life. He graduated from Guthrie High School in 1974. While he was in high school he participated in wrestling, FFA and was in Honor Society. He married Judy Crooks on June 28, 1974 at the Noble Avenue Baptist Church in Guthrie. Jerry was employed at Autoquip as a Customer Service Representative and a member of Abell Community Church. He enjoyed his grandchildren, visiting Vegas, going on cruises, fantasy football and was a Cubs and OU fan.

Survivors include his wife Judy of the home in Guthrie, his son Brian Grindle and wife Becky of Guthrie, daughter Katie Grindle Heard and husband John of Guthrie, sister Bonnie Vandeveer of Slaughterville, LA, Sister Carol Creed and husband Paul of Guthrie, grandchildren, Madison, Ethan, Gracie and Avery Grindle and Michelle and Tyler Heard. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Emily Grindle in 2012, brother Danny Grindle and brother-in-law Lonnie Vandeveer.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Van Hudson officiating. Burial will follow at Summit View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until 7:00 PM and Wednesday from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
