Melissa Ann Evans, age 34 of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away January 27, 2019 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born on September 21, 1984 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Bobby and Janet (Jackson) Evans.

Melissa attended Guthrie High School and graduated in 2003. In high school she played softball, tennis and ran cross country. She was employed at Walmart for the past 16 years and presently was a department manager. She enjoyed baking and was the best aunt ever.

Survivors include her parents Bobby and Janet Evans of Guthrie; 5 siblings, Robert Evans, Stephen Evans, Nathan and Jacquelyn Evans, Patricia Evans and Joe Burton and Kimberly and Beau Nyte. She is also survived by her grandfather Don Jackson of Guthrie and several nieces, nephews and a number of close friends and her boyfriend Joseph Burton of Oklahoma City. Melissa was preceded in death by her nephews Carson Nyte and Bentley Evans, niece Paisley Evans, grandmothers Darlene Hollis and Jaree Poston and grandfather Johnnie Evans and step-grandfather Blackie Poston and Uncle Hank.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Community Church, 512 E. Seward Road, Guthrie with Pastor John Punni of West Guthrie United Methodist Church and Pastor Peter Balaban of Light House Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow at Summit View Cemetery.

A candlelight vigil will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 7:30 P.M. at Community Church.

Services are under direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
