Funeral services for Frances Anna Deforth, 77, of Guthrie will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at Smith Memorial Chapel in Guthrie with Brother Stanley Dickson of Church of God Chapel of Guthrie officiating. Burial will follow in Summit View Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
She was born November 11, 1925 in Guthrie to Harry and Minnie White. Frances Anna White Porter Deforth passed away to her Heavenly home on June 1, 2003.
She lived in Guthrie all of her life, graduating from Guthrie High School in 1943. She married Clark Junior Porter on July 7, 1946 and ran Clark's Food Market until his passing 1965. She married Roman Deforth on January 4, 1970. She was a dedicated Christian and had attended the Church of God Chapel since she was seven years old.
Survivors include her husband, Roman Deforth; one son, Merle Porter and wife Shirley of Guthrie; one daughter, Marsha McCormac and husband Robert of Broken Arrow; four grandchildren, Dena Porter, Shelia Porter Lafferty and husband Eddie and Kyle Porter and wife Chrissy, all of Guthrie, and Meredith McCormac of Broken Arrow; three great-grandchildren, Da'Lynn Porter, Marian Porter and Elijah Lafferty; three sisters, Marie Mitchell and husband Manuel of Trout, La., Virginia Mitchell and husband Max of Jena, La. and Vera Henderson and husband Wayne of Guthrie; and a host of other realtives and friends.
Visitation will be held at Smith Memorial Chapel until 8 p.m. Tuesday.
The family wishes to thank Pastor Stanley Dickson, Barbara Lindsey, Hospice Center, and many other relatives, friends and caregivers for their kindness, friendship and care during her illness.
