Services for Oscar Edward Daves, 70, of Crescent will be held Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at 2:30 p.m. at the Noble Avenue Baptist Church with Dr. Larry Stevens officiating and assisted by Chaplain Terry Midkiff. Interment will follow at the Summit View Cemetery.
Daves is the son of Benjamin and Nancy Blackwood Daves, born Nov. 19, 1930 at Calumet, Okla. He departed this life Jan. 12, 2001 at home with his family, due to a lengthy bout with cancer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sisters in infancy, and recently three brothers, Frank, George, and Marion Daves.
He is survived by his wife of 47 and a half years, Gloria Martin Daves, of the home; two sons, Rick Daves of Oklahoma City, and Rock Daves of Norman; one daughter, Ralene Sword and her husband, Clay, of Jacksonville, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Amber, Sommer, Lucas, Autumn, Tanner, Caleb, Josh and Michael; his mother-in-law Mrs. Dorothy Martin and many other close relatives and friends who will miss him greatly.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m.
