Dorothy Jean Thomason Cole

January 18, 1934 - March 22, 2017

Dorothy Jean Thomason Cole, 83, 0f Houston, Texas entered Heaven on March 22, 2017.

Dorothy was born on January 18, 1934, In Guthrie, Oklahoma to Kenneth and Bernice (James) Thomason., Dorothy lived most of her life in her beloved Oklahoma. She spent the last years of her life in Houston, Texas, near her family. She was a devoted member of Jersey Village Baptist Church. Her greatest joy was being a wonderful homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Bernice Thomason and husband J.D. Cole. Dorothy is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Don and June Thomason; daughters Lori Norman and husband Jim; and Karen Mugavero and husband Mike; grandchildren, Chauntel, Joshua, Kimberly and Nicole Maupin; Matthew, Morgan, Megan, and Mackenzie Mugavero, plus six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her adored dog Sophie and lifelong friends Margaret and Geraldine.

The family expresses appreciation to Village on the Park; Encompass Hospice and especially Doris, for their loving care.

Dorothy will be laid to rest Saturday, April 1, 2017 with graveside services at 11:00 am in Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

Instead of flowers, the family encourages a donation to the Alzheimer's Association.
