Larry Gene Clolinger

Larry Gene Clolinger, 75, of Guthrie, OK went to be with the Lord on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday Nov. 22, 2018, in OKC. He was born on Feb 15, 1943 in Drew, MS. Larry was a 1962 graduate of Greenville High School, in MS.

He joined the Navy in 1962, where he served on submarines until 1970, as a Nuclear Reactor Operator, ETN6. Larry served as a Deacon, Small Group Leader, Eagles Care Group Leader and Sunday School Leader at Putnam City Baptist Church in OKC for many years under the Ministry of Dr. Rod Masteller. Larry was VP of Data Processing at Mid Continent Life Insurance Company in OKC and retired in 1995. He was a very active and a respected board member of the Mid-America Chapter of the Paralyzed Veterans of America for over 20 years. He was voted Member of the Year in 2001. Larry was also a consulting member of the MAPVA Stor-Mor business for 18 years. This group of Paralyzed Veterans have become his second family.

He was preceded in death by his mother Lillian Fowler Wyse, step-dad Kenneth Wyse and father Walter Clolinger. Larry is survived by his adoring wife of 53 years Connie O'Lenick Clolinger of Brooklyn NY, daughter Felicia Benton, son-in-law Lance; grandchildren Jackson and Lauryn, all of Guthrie, who were his greatest joy; brother C.G. Clolinger and sister-in-law Edna of Arizona. He is also survived by many extended family, friends and loved ones throughout the country.

Viewing will be Monday, November 26th from 9am-9pm with family present from 6pm-8pm at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 27 at 2pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel. He will be laid to rest in Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers contributions in Larry's name can be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America at pva.org or The National MS Society.
