Born: November 27, 1965
Died: June 13, 2016

Buddy was raised in Guthrie all of his life and graduated from Guthrie High School. He was born November 27th, 1965 to his parents Leslie J. Canning and Lina Ruth (James) Canning.

John William, "Buddy" Canning left this world at 50 years old, too soon, on June 13th, 2016.

After school he attended college at Miami, Oklahoma on a football scholarship. He always had a helping hand for those who needed it. Everyone was his friend. He never got married, but he had a big family and loved his family member.

Survived by his father Leslie J. Canning, two sisters Martha Canning and Britton Copeland, Patti Canning and husband Ronnie Beasley. Five nieces and nephews; Nicki, Thomas, Casey, Shance, Steven and Dillon II, Aunt Dorothy Swanson Kenneth, Violet Arnold and late Blair, Donna and Rari Canning, his Great Nephew Cole Cook, and his 3 dogs and cat.

He was preceded by his mother Ruth Canning, his grandparents Everett J. Canning, Martha Canning, Russell James and Lula Jame.

Today the restriction of his infirmities are lifted and he is singing and dancing with those he loved who have gone before him and for that we are grateful.

Buddy never met a stranger. He loved everybody and would do anything for anybody

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday June 22nd. at 10 a.m. at Smith Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Summit View Cemetery.
