Kenneth Wayne Brouchoud
Born: October 08, 1942
Died: February 13, 2011

Kenneth Wayne Brouchoud went to be with the Lord on Sunday afternoon, February 13, 2011 after a lengthy illness. He was born to Ralph G. and Fern (Collett) Brouchoud on October 8, 1942.

He lived on a farm until 1955 when the family moved to Guthrie, OK. He graduated from Guthrie High School in 1960 where he played baseball, basketball, and the alumni basketball games. He was a member of the Kingsman Car Club. When he was in school, he always had one of the "hottest" cars in town and traveled with Leon Ellis all over the state for drag races. He also hit Lowery Flats for some after-hours drag races. After graduation, he attended Oklahoma State University for 3 years majoring in engineering. He also was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He was an avid fan of OSU.

After Kenneth left college, he worked in the oil field which was his passion and made it his livelihood. He was drafted into the Army in 1967 and spent 1 year in Vietnam. While in basic training he qualified expert in rifle and marksmanship. While in Vietnam, he won 2 Bronze Stars, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Army Commendation Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1969.

Most of his life, he worked in the oil field and spent the last few years working for Logan County #2 until he retired. Kenneth is survived by wife Barbara of the home; step-son Mark Nottingham of Guthrie; son Paul Bryan Brouchoud and wife Liz and grandchildren Jordan, Cooper, Taylor, and Tanner of Winfield, WV; daughter Amanda K. Lumbert and husband Randall, grandchildren Jacob, Cody, Abbie, Joe, and Randi of Marlow, OK; mother Fern Brouchoud of Guthrie; sisters Elfreda Johnson and Helen Machtolff and husband George all of Guthrie; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He loved his pets Stinky and Teenie.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 18, 2011 at Smith Memorial Chapel with Pastor Don Riepe officiating. Interment will follow at Summit View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.

Visitation will be Thursday, 8:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
