Graveside services for William "Bill" Richard Bowen, 75, of Guthrie will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2002 at Summit View Cemetery in Guthrie with Dr. Ron Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Davis Funeral Home.
Bowen was born July 31, 1926 in Halfway, Mich. to William Richard and marguerite (Jones) Bowen. He died Saturday, May 11, 2002 in Guthrie.
Bill had lived in this area since 1958, moving here from Visalia, Calif. He retired from Southwest Roofing and Sheetmetal in Oklahoma City. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving in World War II. Bill loved to fish and ride four-wheelers.
He married Bonnie Jo Mitchell on March 7, 1947 in Las Vegas. She preceded him in death on Feb. 20, 1996. He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include one son, William "Bill" Bowen and wife Gainel of Guthrie; two daughters, Vicky Conley and husban Andy of Guthrie and Connie Bowen of guthrie; one sister, Emma Hamilton and husband Lloyd of Wathena, Kan.; six grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
