Born: June 17, 1938
Died: April 22, 2014

Graveside funeral services for Robert Edgar Blaney, Jr., 75, of Guthrie, OK, will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, April 28, 2014 at Summit View Cemetery in Guthrie with Minister Don Riepe officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.

Robert was born June 17, 1938 in Guthrie to Robert and Helen (Ward) Blaney. He passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014 in Edmond.

Robert attended High School in Mulhall, OK. Following high school he worked in the oil field. Shortly thereafter, he started a life-long career as an aviation machinist, being employed by companies such as Aero Commander, Boeing, and Rocky Flats Nuclear Plant in Colorado.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, and his very special Blue Heeler, Mattie.

He is survived by his wife Helen of the home, sons Martin and Michael Blaney, siblings Jean Bross and her husband Don (Guthrie, OK), Barbra Hardt (California), Terry Blaney and his wife Shirley (Magnolia, TX), Sherry Martin and her husband Rob (Jones, OK), and his aunt Carolyn Ward (Junction City, AZ).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Friends of Guthrie Animals, Inc. (FOGAS) at P.O. Box 1557, Guthrie, OK 73044-1557. FOGAS can be contacted at (405) 282-1520.

The casket will not be open at any time. There will be no visitation.
