Robert "Bob" Louis Baker of Meridian, Oklahoma, age 60, died at his home on September 7, 2003 in Logan County. Graveside services will be at Summit View Cemetery on Wednesday, September 10 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Dan Curtis officiating.

Interment will be at Summit View Cemetery in Guthrie, Oklahoma under the direction of Community Funeral Home.

Baker was born on December 14, 1942 in Guthrie, Oklahoma, son of Roy Nelson and Leona Vera (LeGate) Baker. Baker was married to Jean Warren on September 19, 1998 in Cole, Oklahoma.

Upon graduating from Guthrie High School in 1960, Baker lived and worked most of his life in the Guthrie and Meridian area. He attended trade school in Muskogee, Oklahoma and served in the U. S. Army, doing a tour of duty in Vietnam.

Baker was a member of the Guthrie VFW Post # 4578.

He is predeceased by his mother, Leona in 1944, his father Roy in 1997, and a brother Roy Nelson, Jr., in 1999.

Baker is survived by his wife, Jean of the home, 3 sons, Robb and family of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Rick and family in Maysville, Oklahoma; and Mick and family of Noble, Oklahoma. He is also survived by an extended family of two daughters and one son; Sherri Duvall and family of Woodland, Texas; Bonnie Posey and family of Guthrie, Oklahoma; and Dale Warren of El Reno, Oklahoma; and 11 grandchildren.

Robert was so proud of his grandchildren and he loved them so much. The family would like to express a special thank you to Edmond Hospice and all who had an opportunity to care for Robert. Robert will be laid to rest in the Baker Family plot. He will be missed by his family and all who knew him.

Viewing will be from 9:30 a.m. today until 8:00 p.m. and beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
