Alverna Roselene Biggs

Alverna Roselene (Gillispie) Biggs passed peacefully from this world on Thursday January 25, 2018 at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was born June 23, 1933 in Reydon, Oklahoma to Delmar and Rosalia (Williams) Gillispie.

She married Harold W. Biggs on August 20, 1953. They were blessed with four sons.

Alverna was a member of First Southern Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. In her professional career Alverna taught kindergarten in Guthrie for 27 years blessing families through multiple generations.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 27, 2018 at First Southern Baptist Church in Guthrie, with interment to follow at Summit View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.

She is survived by sons, Delbert Biggs and wife, Sherri of Edmond, Dennis Biggs Sr. and wife, Vicki of Guthrie, Larry Biggs of Guthrie and daughter-in-law, Charla Biggs of Norman; grandchildren, Dennis Biggs Jr. and wife, Sarah, Randy Biggs Jr. and wife, Kendra, and Tiffany Biggs all of Guthrie, Jeremy Biggs of OKC, Kristen Snethen and husband, John of Edmond and step-grandchildren, Jennifer Bozarth, Robert Bozarth, and Lorie Stewart and fifteen great- grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Edwin Gillispie and Max Gillispie, and sisters, Mayola Watson and Ruth Keen. She is also survived by a host of relatives and many friends.

Alverna was preceded in death by her husband, Harold and son, Randy Biggs Sr., her parents and sister, Leora Guthrie.
