Died: January 24, 2008

Vernon (Andy) Anderson, 86, of Guthrie, OK died Thursday, January 24, 2008. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, January 28, 2008 at Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie with Pastor Mike DeMoss of First United Methodist Church officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.

Andy was born in Dupree, SD on April 2, 1921 to Emmert Anderson and Helen Bird Anderson.

Andy moved to Guthrie as a teenager and worked for the Oklahoma State Transportation Department until his retirement. He also served in the Army Air Corps during WW II.

Andy enjoyed dancing, gardening, talking about the stock market, and was a fierce competitor in cards.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmert and Helen Anderson, one daughter, Cynthia Anderson, and one son, Phillip Anderson.

Andy is survived by his wife, Aliene Anderson, grandson, Thomas M. Anderson and his wife Melissa of Farmersville, TX, and granddaughter, Connie LeAnn Smith Adams.

Friends may call Sunday, 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. at Smith-Gallo Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to your favorite charity.
