Graveside services for Essie F. Anderson, 82, of Tampa, Fla. will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2003 at Summit View Cemetery in Guthrie. Burial will follow under the direction of Community Funeral Home.
Essie was born and raised in Crescent. She attended Douglas High School and graduated from Langston University. In 1957, she and her family moved to Rockford, Ill., where she resided for 43 years. She later moved to Tampa, Fla., where she passed away after a long illness.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Anderson, in March 2001; two sisters, Eva and Lillie Andrews, and one brother, William Bufford.
Survivors include one son, Michael Anderson and wife Nidia; two daughters, Tamara Ashley and husband Eric and Geneva Anderson; and two grandchildren, Evan and Kyle Ashley.
Viewing will take place from 1 to 8 p.m. at Community Funeral Home.
