Mark Ray Elliott

Born: February 15, 1963
Died: July 10, 2011

Mark Ray Elliott was born February 15, 1963 to Marvin and Mae Elliott in Oklahoma City, OK. He was reared on the family ranch south of Guthrie, OK. He attended and graduated from Guthrie Schools in 1981. After graduation he held several jobs including NAPA in Guthrie, Master Auto Mechanic for Jim Miles Chevrolet and Croft Chevrolet. He was also employed at Ditch Witch in Perry, OK. At the time of his death he was employed at Oklahoma Natural Gas.

Mark passed away suddenly July 10, 2011 at Logan Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his father Marvin in 2005 and mother Mae in 2001. He is survived by his son Dalton Christopher and daughter Devyn Mae, whom he lovingly and playfully called “Roy”, both of the home, his sister Cindy Elliott of Guthrie, and his fiancée Meghan Norton and her daughter Lola also of Guthrie. Mark also leaves behind many friends, and lifelong friends he considered brothers Pete Wimsey, Kent Norris, Curtis Eaton, Tommy Payne, Brad Butler, and Kevin Leach among others.

Mark was active in farming and raising cattle. He spent quality time with his children whom he loved dearly. His favorite past time was riding his Harley Davidson with his fiancée Meghan. They took many day trips with friends who also owned bikes. That was their special weekend time together. Meghan will miss those times and cherish each trip they took and their time together.

Cindy will miss her brother dearly and is thankful for all the times they were able to share together. Dalton and Devyn will miss their Dad more than any of us, but are so thankful for the time they had with him. He was a very special and terrific Dad.

Private family burial will be held at Seward Cemetery, Guthrie. Public memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Lakeview Baptist Church with Pastor Tracy Pennington officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.

At the family’s request, the casket will not be open at any time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
