Born: September 10, 1932
Died: January 19, 2015

Eunice Maxine Lowrie Yost was called home by her Heavenly Father on January 19, 2015, to join her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and loved ones who had preceded her.

Maxine was born to Ira Mont and Lydia Bessie (Clark) Lowrie on September 10, 1932, on a farm near Mulhall, Oklahoma. She attended Mulhall High School, graduating as valedictorian of her class.

Shortly after graduation, she married Donald Leroy Yost on July 29, 1950, and they shared 64 wonderful years together. Two beloved children were born to this union, a daughter, Donna Jo, and son, Kris Alan.

Maxine was an employee of the U.S. Small Business Administration for twenty-five years. She was an active member of Del City Christian Church for 43 years until she moved with husband to Guthrie, OK, in November 1993, where she became active in the First Christian Church and made many friends there. Maxine loved being with family and friends, Bible Study Groups, reading, handwork, collecting cookbooks and travel. She was a faithful prayer warrior and encourager. In later years, she enjoyed sending emails, talking to family and friends on her cell phone, connecting on Facebook, and listening to music on her iPad.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Donna Jo and husband Bill Black, Norman, OK; son, Kris Alan Yost and wife Jackie, Laguna Niguel, CA; grandchildren Megan and husband Joe Hawks, Wichita, KS; Mandy and husband Billy Godfrey, OKC; Julie Black, Lawrence, KS; and Patrick Yost and wife Heather, Sunnyvale, CA. She was Grandma to those beloved grandchildren, and Gigi and Geege to her great grandchildren Will, Molly, and Tucker Godfrey, and Sydney, Cody and Matthew Hawks. Survivors also include her sister Thelma Ruth and husband Calvin Rutherford, OKC; and sister Betty Kindschi, Stillwater; as well as many, many nieces and nephews.

The family thanks the relatives and friends who encouraged and supported her. "She will never quite leave us although she has passed. A thousand sweet memories are holding her fast."

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Friday, January 23, 2015 at First Christian Church of Guthrie with Reverend Amy Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Mulhall. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.

Visitation will be held Thursday, 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM and Friday, 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM
