Died: November 13, 2009

Clela N. Yost, 94, of Mulhall, OK died Friday, November 13, 2009 at Golden Age Nursing Home in Guthrie, her home for the past five years.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at Vassar Full Gospel Church with Reverend Ralph Yost officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery, Mulhall. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie, OK.

Clela was born in rural Mulhall to Henry and Nellie (Crow) Sylvester on March 3, 1915. She married L.B. Yost on March 15, 1933 in Guthrie. She went to Lone Star School through eighth grade, and then attended high school while living with her sister in Stillwater, OK. She served for many years as a Sunday school teacher and was a member of Vassar Full Gospel Church.

She worked for many years as a nurse’s aide and retired form the Guthrie Hospital in 1980. After retiring, she spent her time making beautiful hand-quilted quilts for each grandchild and always had a large garden. She excelled in being a homemaker and raising her family. She loved having her family home and cooking delicious meals.

Clela was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers Walter and Cleo "Tom"; four sisters Goldie, Minnie, Hallie, and Arletha "Dolly"; and one son Paul Duane.

She is survived by one son Ralph Yost and wife Lenora; one daughter-in-law Peggy Yost all of Mulhall; six grandchildren Lori Dow and husband Bob, Sue Young and husband Barry, Mike Yost, Ricky Yost, Damon Yost and wife Shari, and Chad Yost and wife Kali; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Rick Yost, Damon Yost, Chad Yost, Mike Yost, Barry Young, and Bob Dow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vassar Full Gospel Church, P.O. Box 28, Mulhall, OK 73063.

Visitation will be held at Smith-Gallo Funeral Home on Monday, 12:00 p.m. - 8 p.m. and Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
