Jerry Leroy Wright was born in Enid, Oklahoma to Loyd L. and Freida (Johnson) Wright on April 28, 1944. He went to be with this Lord on September 13, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Jerry attended Bethany Schools from 5th grade to graduation in 1962. He married the love of his life, Teresa Percival, on April 24, 1964 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Crescent became their home for 56 years. They had four children: David, Dennis, Dianne and Debbie. He had a lifelong career in the oilfield as the owner of Wright's Well Service. He loved to attend all of his grandkids ball games and was affectionately known as "Paps" throughout several communities. Handing out candy and "bear hugs" to all of the kids brought him great joy. He was a giver and positively influenced countless individuals.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Kay Roberts, and one grandson, Cory David Wright. He is survived by his wife Teresa, of the home; his children, David Wright and wife Julie of Guthrie, Dennis Wright and wife Bobbi of Crescent, Dianne Richards and husband Barry of Yale, OK, and Debbie Sage and husband David of Weatherford, OK. Paps will be greatly missed by his twelve grandchildren, Heather Carlock, Tiffany Plagens, Cody Wright, Cade Wright, Jerrad Richards, Zac Wright, Sheridan Hall, Grace Richards, Shelby Sage, Ashlyn Sage, Ethan Sage, and Tate Sage. He adored every one of his nine great grandchildren. He also leaves behind two sisters, Dorothy Varvil and Norma Winburn of Edmond, OK and by one brother, J.R. Wright of Crescent; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 18, 2020 at the First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Oakland-Knowles Cemetery. Viewing will be 3:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
