Gladys M. Ramsey
Born: November 18, 1928
Died: July 29, 2009

Gladys M. Ramsey was born on November 18, 1928 on Tiger Mountain by a midwife in Hoffman, OK to Tom and Vergie (Perkins) Britt. Gladys was the sixth youngest of seven children. She attended school in the Morris School system and graduated from high school in 1946. Gladys met her husband Aubrey Lee “Ike” Ramsey in Prague, OK and they were married June 12, 1950 in Ft. Smith, AR. She and Ike had two children Sandra Jo and Edgar Lee. They lived in the Guthrie / Crescent area most of their married life. She was an excellent cook and a stay at home mom. She loved to go to garage sales and take care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Gladys is preceded in death by her parents; husband Ike; four brothers; one sister; and son Edgar Lee “Ed” Ramsey. She is survived by her daughter Sandra Jo Reihs and husband Mike; brother Alfred Britt and wife Willie; and sister-in-law Dorothy Britt. Gladys passed from this life on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Golden Age Nursing Home in Guthrie at the age of 80 years.

Funeral services were held Saturday, August 1, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Smith Memorial Chapel. Interment followed at Oakland Knowles Cemetery, Cresent. Services were under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
