CRESCENT - The funeral, for Elwin “Mike” L. Isaac, 71, will be at 10:30 am. Saturday in the First United Methodist Church, Crescent, with the Revs. David Rowley and Jim Hanes officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland-Knowles Cemetery, Crescent, under the direction of Abernathy Funeral Home.

He was born Nov. 16, 1924, at Mildred, Kan, to Frank L. and Gladys (Drury) Isaac and died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 1996, at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City.

He married Marjorie Jean Pace on Nov. 16, 1944, in Louisville, Neb. He was a retired postal carrier for the United States Postal Service. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Crescent American Legion, Crescent Lions Club, Board of Directors of Twin Lakes Association, Secretary of Logan County Democrats; storm chaser for Logan County Civil Defense, several square dance clubs, the Crescent Chamber of Commerce and C.B. Clubs.

He also served in the Navy during World War II, serving as radioman 2nd class from 1942 to 1948. He moved to Oklahoma in 1964 from Manley, Neb. In 1974 he joined the Oklahoma National Guard and retired in 1988. While in the Navy he received the Asiatic-Pacific Medal-BronzeStar; the Phillipine Liberation-Bronze Star; World War II Victory Medal; American Area Campaign Medal and the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal.

He is survived by his wife, Majorie, of the home; his mother, Gladys Holland of Butler, Mo.; two sons, Michael Scott Isaac of Norman, and Frank Lynn Isaac of Moore; one sister, Shirley Reynolds of Drumright; two brothers, Kenneth Holland of Butler,Mo., and Richard Holland of California; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, one brother and one son.

Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church of Crescent or Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for Cancer.
