Bessie Carol Davis
(June 24, 1930 - October 21, 2010)

Bessie Carol Davis was born June 24, 1930 in Walsh, Colorado to Claude and Mabel (Fry) Robb. She passed away on October 21, 2010 in Guthrie, OK at the age of 80 years.

She married Melvin Leon Davis on November 28, 1945 in Clayton, NM. Being the oldest of six children, she had six children of her own, one girl, five boys. Bessie lived her Christian example as a prayer warrior always praying for her family and friends. Each of those left behind will have to stretch to fill the gap left behind in the prayer closet. Family and friends will be asking the question:, "Who will be praying for me now that Bessie is gone?" She always sought out ways to serve others. Whether as a faithful helpmate to her husband or cooking for her large family, she found joy in helping others. She was the Head Cook for Elkhart Public Schools in Elkhart, KS for many years. She was noted for her homemade chicken and noodles, cinnamon rolls, and dinner rolls not only at home but also at school.

Survivors include, husband of 65 years, Melvin of the home; one daughter Linda Webb and husband Dale of Kiowa, KS; five sons, Steve Davis and wife Becky of Bethany, OK, Clifford Davis and wife Alice of Crescent, Frank Davis and wife Deb of Crescent, Travis Davis and wife Patriece of Crescent, and David Davis and wife Renae of Enid; one sister Wilma Moore of Elmore City, OK; two brothers, Lee Robb and wife Diane of Panama City, FL and Carl Robb and wife Mary of Oklahoma City; twenty three grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Daisey Gann, brother Calvin Robb, and grandson Aaron Paul Davis.

Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Cole and Rev. Steve Black officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland-Knowles Cemetery in Crescent. Services are under the direction of Abernathy Aaron Funeral Home in Crescent. Memorial can be made to the First Baptist Church in Crescent, OK.
